California is located along the western coast of the United States. Its capital is Sacramento. California is bordered by Oregon, Nevada, and Arizona in the United States and it also shares a border with Mexican state Baja California which is around 145 miles in length. California is well known for its diverse climate which ranges from Mediterranean to subarctic. Its geography includes mountains, valleys, deserts and pacific coast which make up the 163,696 square miles. California is also the third largest U.S. state which allows it to be the most heavily populated state in the United States with a population of around 37 million. California’s economy is quite diverse as it’s known for its work in fields of aerospace, agriculture, entertainment, computers & technology, and wine production. California’s largest output sectors are financial services, trade, transportation, utilities, education and health services, government, and manufacturing.

California shares six land ports of entry throughout its border with Baja California. This includes Tijuana, Baja California with San Diego, California; Tijuana, Baja California with Otay Mesa, California; Tecate, Baja California with Tecate, California; Mexicali, Baja California with Calexico, California; Mexicali, Baja California with Calexico, California (Eastern border checkpoint); and Los Algodones, Baja California with Andrade, California.
